Octave Capital is an absolute return investment firm backed by a Hong Kong-based family.  The family has been a long term investor for decades and established Octave Capital in 2022 to bring the institutionalization and professionalism of its wealth management to the next level.  The firm manages capital solely for the family and does not accept external money.

Octave’s team consists of professionals with significant global investment and operations experience.  It builds on the family’s philosophy for human capital management that aligns the interests of the staff with the firm. We are entrepreneurial and creative and we have a collaborative and vibrant corporate culture.

Idea Generation

Octave manages an institutional level of AUM and strives to enable its stable growth in all economic conditions. It invests across asset classes globally, including equity, fixed income, derivates, structured products, forex, private equity and hedge funds. We welcome investment ideas and utilize both internal and external resources to generate investment ideas.

Investment Selection and Portfolio Construction

All investments need to pass through our rigorous investment analysis and validation. Unlike traditional investment firms, asset allocators, and family offices, Octave actively seeks hedging of market risks to generate absolute return under different market conditions. More importantly, Octave actively utilizes sophisticated quantitative techniques and macro analysis for investment decisions rather than simply relying on fundamental analysis. The whole investment team was involved in the investment process and we will not let our staff to work in silos.

Investment Monitoring and Risk Management

Octave utilized institutional level investment monitoring and risk management systems.  Investment monitoring and risk management is an integral part of our investment selection and portfolio management process rather than a post investment reporting and compliance process.
